89% Syrah, 11% Viognier. The vine age ranges from 50 to 100 years grown on 1 hectare of vines planted in the Côte Blonde district of Côte Rôtie. 100% Syrah. La Landonne is from the Côte Brune and is the most tannic, structured and longest ageing of the three Côte Rôtie ‘La-La’s’ and potentially the most complex. Aged in 100% new oak and aged for 42 months. Annual production: 800 cases.
93% Syrah, 7% Viognier are some of the steepest vineyards in Côte Rôtie, south-facing with a complex terroir of granite, silicone, schist, limestone and clay rich in iron. Aged in 100% new oak for 42 months. La Turque is grown on the more rich tannic Côte Brune side of Côte Rôtie. However, it has similar exoticism of La Mouline but more compact and tannic on the palate. Annual production: 400 cases.
100% Grenache. The wines come from 10 hectares of vines from a north-east facing vineyard surrounded by a pine forests which acts as a cooling influence. The vineyard has a distinct fine sand soil that helps regulate the temperature and maintains the humidity at the roots. The wine is whole bunch pressed and in keeping with traditional methods part vinified on stems before being aged in very old large oak barrels. Average production 1,100 cases.
100% Syrah. The style of Jean Louis Chave’s Hermitage is defined by its amazing flinty, granite-like structure and minerality with both precise berry fruit flavours and complex savory, earthy tones. Resultantly, the wine ages beautifully and reaches maturity typically around 20 years of age but can hold much longer. Average production: 2000 cases.
This wine is only produced in the finest vintages with the first production being in 1990. Average production: 200 cases.
