Unmissable Wines This July

For many in the wine trade, July and August are a hiatus between the Bordeaux EP campaign and the flurry of releases we will see in September.

Not here! Call us impatient but there are too many wines in the line-up to our clients that we are absolutely bursting to offer. Summer is definitely an exciting period. The F+R buying team visited Tuscany and Piedmont in June and came back buzzing about the 2016 vintage. We will be bringing you the newest releases from our favourite Chianti Classico producer, the magical Castello di Ama, as well as some specially curated Tuscany 2016 collections encompassing some of our highly recommended picks from Chianti Classico, Bolgheri and Montalcino.

After tasting the 2016 Barbaresco during our visit with Aldo Vacca of Produttori di Barbaresco last month, we pined after an early allocation and with great success, we will be able to show you this release earlier than the rest! We will most likely see the releases of Gaja’s 2016 Single Vineyard Barbarescos later in the summer.

Barolo 2015s are also still going strong, and we have the latest releases from the master of low-yield Roberto Voerzio’s sensational cuvees available albeit in very limited quantities, so make sure to secure these quickly should you be interested.

Additionally, we will also be seeing the latest vintage releases from Von Hovel, a fantastic producer in the Mosel region who is ludicrously under-priced and, in a sun-kissed vintage like 2018, we expect them to be especially pure and fine.

After looking far and wide for the most superb releases from the 2018 vintage in Beaujolais, definitely keep a look out for further offers such as the fantastic 2018 Jadot Moulin A Vent Clos de Rochegres we were offering last week (still available if missed).

For those on the lookout for exclusive older vintages of top class Priorat, we have a very special offer from the incredible Mas Doix. We have loved all Mas Doix’s wines that we have tasted on release, but the opportunity to taste the flagship wine, Doix, with some bottle age absolutely confirmed the excellence in winemaking and harnessing what incredibly old vines in these stunning terroirs can become.

Finally, it wouldn’t be Summer without Rosé and Champagne, so watch out for our favourite picks of the season.

We hope some of these teasers have piqued your interest and can assure you there is much more to come. Please let your account manager know if there is anything specific you are looking for and we look forward to bringing you these and many more exciting offers over the coming months. Wishing you an enjoyable summer with plenty of good wine!
