The week has seen a number of releases, some working, some not.
The big name on Wednesday was Léoville-Barton at GBP 429 per dozen in bond. This is an excellent Léoville: tasting at this property is almost not necessary given the consistent quality here and, whilst this probably isn’t a speculative buy, it is a wine that will give great deal of pleasure in ten, or twenty, years’ time.
The big release today is Domaine de Chevalier Rouge and Domaine de Chevalier Blanc. The red is as good as ever and sensibly-priced; the white is truly, truly grand vin and is available at GBP 570 per dozen in bond.
